Penn Sound: Audio Poetry

I was talking to my friend Paul last night and was again reminded of the amazing website that UPENN Center for Programs in Contemporary Writing Maintains. It is by far the best of its kind- and includes audio versions of lectures and poetry readings by a wide-range of poets. Even non-academic poets!

The Jack Spicer (pictured above) is rare as many organizations won't include him in their "best," and he performed very few public readings (he would start seeing spots and get anxious). However, UPENN includes him and his "Imaginary Elegies," which is an amazing find.

There is also great stuff from Amiri Baraka - http://writing.upenn.edu/pennsound/x/Baraka.html (try out "A Poem Some People Will Have To Understand") and Kenneth Koch http://writing.upenn.edu/pennsound/x/Koch.html ("One Train" remains one of my all-time favorites), and many others.

The main page for the site is:
