After the last post, I couldn't resist including this photo: Morton Feldman, Kenneth Koch, Le Roi Jones... anyone who know my work probably know that I count Koch and O'Hara as some of the absolute best that poetry has to offer all time.
This picture comes from David Lehman's book "the last avant-garde: the making of the new york school of poets" Doubleday, New York, 1998.
I would reccomend this book to anyone intersted in writing poetry, as well as the book "Poet Be Like God: Jack Spicer and the San Francisco Renaissance" by Lewis Ellingham and Kevin Killian. But, Spicer is a whole other can of worms for another day.
