Saw this hawk a while back on my fire escape, and looked up today and there she was again. The picture doesn't do her justice, she was HUGE.

I watched the movie Confidence (starring Ed Burns, who seems to be trying for a KCE impersonation in more than a few scenes) a couple nights ago, and in it Burns's character says a bird in the house is always bad luck.
Then again, he sees a bird roosting outside his house--and in a cafe, and on the scarf of Rachel Weisz's character--and he manages to grift $5mil.
So maybe he just says birds are bad luck to throw everybody off of birds, so he can have them to himself and stuff his pockets with their feathers.
